Software

Advance Training offers five Computerised Training Kits tailored to the needs of different candidates. You can see how the Kit works by looking at some Flash demonstrations. Aternatively you can look at our fully-functioning free trial software by either asking for one of our free CDs or by downloading it now. Finally, if you want to purchase one of the Kits then you can order on-line.

You can click any of the links below to find out more about a particular Kit, what it includes and how much it costs:

Books

We have spent some time considering a variety of useful books depending on where you are in your police career. Click on the relevant link below to see our recommendations

How we look after you

Advance Training provides you with more than just computer software, we provide a service. Perhaps the one thing that our registered users appreciate more than anything else is the level of support that they get from Advance Training. In recognition of the service we provide we were successfully assessed in 2001 by the Open and Distance Learning Quality Council (ODL QC) and have been successfully re-accredited in 2004 and 2007.

Database Updates

We know that the law is always changing and so we make sure that we keep the questions and answers up to date. Furthermore, we also accept that even we can get it wrong sometimes. This is why we actively seek feedback from all our users. Each time the answer to a question is displayed a "Don't Agree" button appears on the screen. Clicking on this button tells you how to contact Advance Training to discuss the question and answer. If we agree with your observations then we change the question on our master database. Within a month, all other registered users who are on the internet will have the change on their computer!

This process is made as easy as possible. By default your Kit is set up so that once a month it connects in to our website, downloads the monthly update and installs it onto your computer. Any questions which have changed in the last month will then be changed on your computer keeping you as up to date as possible.

In the months of February, May, August and November the update also includes our Law Update - an electronic newsletter which provides greater detail about these changes.

For people who are not on the internet we can send out CDs once a quarter (in the same months as the Law Update is published) for a one-off charge of £20.

On a day-to-day basis we can deal with queries regarding any of our questions either by telephone or by e-mail.
